What happened
Per [REDACTED] was administering lovenox to patient and when i pulled back to safety lock the needle i stuck the lateral aspect of my left index finger EE came to EHS after a needle stick in her distal left index finger after giving lovenox pulling out needle before engaging the safety device she accidently stuck her finger She washed the puncture wound with soap and water for at least 5 minutes and covered with a band aid BBP protocol initiated BBP labs drawn on EE. Source patient is known and labs drawn on source patient. EE made aware of follow up labs for BBP EE is aware to contact EHS for questions and concerns T Dap Is up to date EE was made aware to keep single puncture wound covered with band aid while at work
