Cleaning up after a central line insertion
What happened
Doctor was placing central line through the groin. Unable to get access. Doctor wanted to move to neck for Central Line. Asked doctor if everything was removed and I could throw away sterile drape as he wanted all new stuff for neck central line. Doctor said Yes. I folded up drape to place in trash when something sharp punctured my right thumb. Opened up drape and found central line needle in the drape.
