Lifting a bundle of steel bars with a hoist Chain lifting device.

The employee was lifting a bundle of steel round barstock and when the slack on the chains was tightened the chains slid together due to the bars being wet. When the chains slid together it pinched the tip of the employee 's right index finger. The very end of the employees finger tip was fractured.
