What happened

At approximately [REDACTED] [REDACTED] approached me to let me know he had caught his middle finger on his left hand between a 219 dexter drum and the table leading to the conveyor. He stated that he went to flip the drum from a vertical position to a horizontal position onto the table and the drum landed on his finger. I brought him to the foreman 's office to assess the damage and upon initial inspection there was slight discoloration and a small cut on the inner side of his knuckle closest to the nail. I wrapped his finger with a bandage and a wrap. I then had him rest for the remainder of the shift which at this point was about 15 minutes remaining because I did not want him to risk further injuring it. He also stated he had limited mobility of his finger. He mentioned that he wanted to go to the ER after the shift concluded but after talking to him we agreed that it was best to wait until the next day to see if it was feeling better and if it was not to report to [REDACTED].
