While nursing starting IV blood splattered after retracting the needle nurse states some may have went into her mouth. Nursing rinsed mouth out call infection control for protocol. Explained procedures to nurse who verbalizes understanding. Seen in ER Post exposure anaphylactic treatment refused. Infection Preventionist will monitor and follow up with the employee. Labs ordered on patient and employee.
