Before the incident
ANW OTC was acting as 2nd assist in closing at the sterile field while surgeon was closing patient wound and suture needle was passed through the skin of pt and just before tying the suture knot EE was poked in right middle finger. EE did not see blood initially but felt sting on finger then noticed puncture. EE was also splashed in the right eye with blood during this procedure.
