AHG Bloomington Clinic RN was grazed by dirty needle post giving allergy injection at [REDACTED] AHG clinic to patient on [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. EE reports was with patient who tends to be nervous around needles and while injecting allergy serum into the patients back of arm the pt flinched causing the needle to slip out of pts arm. While EE was using left thumb to activate needle safety feature the pt flinched again which threw the needle ajar out of EEs R hand causing the graze to EEs left thumb. EE reports noted a smear of blood on left thumb post stick.
