Before the incident
ANW OB Home Care RN reports a [REDACTED] to their thumb while caring for a pt in their home in [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. EE was having the pt demonstrate a SQ Orbit site change. After removing the needle the pt put the supplies into a trash bag and handed it to EE forgetting to first remove the needle and place it into the SHARPS container. EE did not notice this so when the pt passed the trash bag to EE they were stuck in their thumb.
