Maintenance tech was preparing to replace the cooling fan on the motor for the [REDACTED] Hoffman blower. Tech locked out the motor and proceeded to remove the housing guarding the cooling fan. Due to the motor shaft free-wheeling the shaft did not come to a stop and was not slowing down after being locked out. Tech attempted to bring the shaft to a stop by grasping the end of the shaft with a pipe wrench. The pipe wrench grabbed onto the shaft causing the tech 's hand to impact an exposed stud.
