Administrating insulin to a Pt.
What happened
Administering subcutaneous Insulin to the pt 's Left arm while Pt was lying in bed. Employee was holding the syringe in their right hand; the medication was successfully given. Employee removed the needle from the pt and with the employee 's left-hand employee attempted to slide the needle guard up while still holding the syringe in their right hand. Employee 's left hand slipped over the needle guard and the needle stuck the employee 's left thumb.
