What happened
As the employee was attempting to pry out the component with a screwdriver the screwdriver 's head slipped causing the employee 's right thumb to strike an adjacent metal surface resulting in a laceration. The employee cleaned and bandaged the laceration at the time of the injury. Five calendar days post the initial injury the employee developed cellutis.
