Before the incident
The employee was completing a coil change.
What happened
While completing a coil change the coil became jammed. The employee attempted to un-jam the coil by prying pulling and cutting the steel roll. The machine was not locked out and had been reset so that when the jam was cleared; the machine would begin working as normal. A supervisor walked into the work area breaking the light curtain which activated the machine. The employees had become trapped. He has 2 broken fingers and skin removed from the area. He was treated in the emergency room but did not spend the night.
