On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] hrs an operator trainee (43 YO M) was running an Automatic Belt Slitter (BSN02). The IW has their right hand on the belt that was in process when the cycle started. The right hand met aguard which stopped the machine but not until the right hand encountered the slitting blades. The IW was wearing cut level 6 gloves at the time of the event. The result of the event is injury to the hand that includes a finger amputation two other fingers injured lacerations to hand
