Before the incident

The driver reversed onto a hill the degree of the incline caused the rear bumper of the truck to become lodged into the pavement When the driver used the liftgate control to deploy the liftgate there was no clearance on the ground for the liftgate to fully deploy and extend due to the incline of the hill (See image 1) The driver attempted to use his hand to dislodge the liftgate by aggressively pulling on the liftgate The liftgate dislodged from the pavement and unfolded onto the drivers hand The driver sustained a 2inch gash on the palm of his hand and a 1inch gash on the back of his hand
