EE was using Safety knife to cut down scrap in an overflowing gaylord EE believed the material to be purge therefore leaving the facility to recycling due to contamination EE felt he could cut down the larger pieces to make room in the two gaylords for a material handling to remove the waste rather than acquire a new gaylord because there was no room for a 3rd gaylord While attempting to cut down polypropylene sheets the safety knife tip snapped off and the EE was pulling the knife towards his body The sudden break and the force applied caused the EE to rake the knife across the forearm Creating a long laceration in the inner soft tissue of L arm Sleeves were not worn during this activity
