patient care in the ambulance attempting to calm the agitated patient

patient was heavily intoxicated and agitated During transport pt repeatedly seeks hand holding for emotional comfort During this pt displays mild aggressive tendencies pulling on my arms but does not appear to be an apparent risk for impending violence pt suddenly grabs the collar of my shirt and pulls me towards her I reflexively pulled myself away and felt sudden sharp pain in the area of my lower thoracic spine between the points of my shoulder blades which was followed by a persistent painful tension I did not feel the need to be immediately evaluated due to the high level of patients in the ED at this time I took PO Tylenol and will see urgent care at NLH after end of shift in the AM I feel it is important to note that this is in the same location as my last reported back injury working here
