Removing drain plug on IDG
What happened
In the original report this is attached to I mistakenly stated that hydraulic fluid got into EE 's eyes- this was incorrect- it was engine oil that got onto him. EE was servicing the #1 IDG on aircraft [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. He depressurized the oil system started loosening the lines then stopped to check his task card. Confirming he needed a S N from the IDG he paused work to get it. When he resumed pulling the drain plug and lines a bit of pressure had built back up and when he loosened them enough he was squirted in the face with the oil. He came in immediately to wash up and rinse his eyes. He changed clothes and despite flushing eyes twice his eyes are still burning. I sent him to local hospital for evaluation after calling sedgwick to get a claim number.
