What happened
The EE was in the back galley when the aircraft hit turbulence and this caused her to become airborne. Her right knee struck the beverage cart as she became airborne. When she began to fall the turbulence then forced her to land in a deep squatting position. The EE suffered pain redness with swelling and contusions on her right knee. The EE is no longer able to bear weight on her right knee without significant pain. First aid was provided onsite. The EE sought medical attention.
