What happened
EE was the assist on flight 854 (717 a c) ATL-CAE on takeoff the flight deck door opened. EE was strapped in and twisted to close the flight deck door with right hand. It did not close. EE continued to attempt to close it pushing hard with right arm hand as we continued to climb. The pressure was so strong to keep the door open. It still did not close. EE finally got up and had to push body into the door. It still did not close. After several attempts of EE pushing with my arms and full body weight (we were still climbing. So at a very steep angle) it finally closed and locked. Now my right arm and lower back are hurting.
