Handling parts from the wedge yard

Team had many parts coming down the line on an 8-heat day (extra loads going through process). All three team members were on the line hammering parts off of the risers. Team got bunched up at the front of the belt. Team member went to pass a casting with 5 parts on it down to the team member (injured team member) at the end of the line by tossing it with the intent of it lying flat. Instead the casting rolled and tumbled onto the injured team member 's finger. Injured team member was given first aid for a laceration on his left middle finger that was 0.5 long. Team member stated that they did not want to go to the hospital. Team member then said that they did not feel well and fainted. Team member then requested to go to the hospital. No obvious sign of a broken bone unclear as to the depth of cut. Team member was then sent to hospital where additional aid (cleaning change of bandage) and x rays were provided. finger not broken.

Initially thumb which first aid address but employee briefly lost consciousness.

Impacted thumb handling parts on wedge line. Lost conciousness.
