Before the incident
Newly intubated patient was up-graded to the ICU. It was reported by the RRT team that there was some blood in the patient 's mouth. Patient was transferred to the new ICU bed and there were nurses and respiratory therapist in the room.
What happened
While respiratory therapist was disconnecting the ET from the transport ventilator to the regular ventilator the tubing was pulled across the patient and particles flew in the air one landing on my R. eye and face.
