I 'm an anesthesiologist the patient was under general anesthesia and undergoing a lung biopsy.

As I was administering the patient medication the surgeon did not know my proximity to the needle. I was also not aware there was a biopsy needle in the surgeon 's hand an accidental needle stick occured in my left hand.
