What happened
Employee hit his foot against a raised plate that was part of the end of a truck bed. The impact tore a hole across his left shoe and also caused the employee to twist his foot and suffer some soreness. This was an Aramark employee who was sent to the clinic for evaluation. The trailer was red tagged for repair and pulled from the dock. Shoes were slip resistant and proper PPE. However they did not provide cut protection against this type of injury to the top side of the foot as this is not currently required.
