I gave this patient insulin. I activated the lock and it fell onto my left thumb. It looked like the lock was engaged and I felt nothing so I didn 't realize I got stuck until [REDACTED] when I saw a red mark on my left thumb that was not there before. I then went to the ER. During this needlestick I did have gloves on.
