What happened
The patient was very obese and breathing heavily making the procedure difficult so I had to hold open neck folds using my hands to retract the skin folds. When the surgeon used the needle driver to pull the needle out of the patient 's skin it stuck my finger. It ripped through both gloves and I bled. I poured alcohol on the wound and then scrubbed it with CHG. I went to the ED.
