Before the incident
Per worker attempting to discard needle quickly. Tried to separate stimulating nerve block wiring from needle and stuck by needle.
What happened
Performed left supraclavicular nerve block at approximately [REDACTED] on morbidly obese patient. Was discarding a 25G needle that I had used for local infiltration and also attempting to throw away an additional peripheral nerve block but inadvertently stuck left palm with needle. Wearing gloves at time. Washed my hand within a minute with soap and water. Small amount of blood visible at palmar inadvertent injection site.
