Gave patient heparin injection at approximately [REDACTED]. Engaged safety device while extracting needle from patient. Removed syringe from needle for disposal. Was walking toward sharps container with needle in hand and felt a stick. Removed glove and saw finger was bleeding at puncture site. Washed hands immediately.
