Before the incident
On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a maintenance associate was cleaning debris from inside of a a [REDACTED] up-cut saw. The machine was not de-energized or locked out during this process. As the associate was using the air wand inside of the machine to clean off dust debris the machine activated (i.e. turned on) actuating the saw blade. The back side of the associates right hand came into contact with the spinning blade resulting in a laceration. The associate was taken to the hospital where he received treatment beyond first aid for his injury.
