Installing belts on a motor.

The employee was working with other maintenance employees to replace the belts between a motor and the induction fan The motor was fully deenergized and locked out. The injured employee was guiding the belt onto the motor sheave with his hand while the belt was being rotated manually by one of the other maintenance employees. The employee inadvertently got his right pinky finger pinched between the belt and the sheave causing a partial amputation of that fingertip.
