walking along hallway and was assisting a deliver

EE was walking in the hallway and saw a delivery was coming down. At this time he was trying to move a wood pallet on the floor so he lifted it to make space for the delivery to be able to pass by. Once I lifted the pallet EE felt a puncture in his thumb and realized he had a splinter. Employee stated he tried to take it out and thought he was OK. On the 3rd day EE stated that he felt a pain on his thump and so he went to the hospital.
