Employee was scanning groceries at her register when the scanning gun 's cord wrapped around her hand when she was grabbing groceries. It pulled her hand down and slammed into the scale causing her right thumb to be dislocated on impact.

What happened

Around- [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Employee was using a register when the cord from the scanning gun got caught around her hand as she was grabbing groceries from the conveyor belt. The cord caused her hand to pull down- causing it to slam into the scale of her register. Her thumb got jammed into the edge of the scale injuring and dislocating her right thumb. She went to Lakewood Medical Center [REDACTED] ER at [REDACTED] and the staff looked at her injury- took images and saw that it was not broken but it is dislocated. Upon further medical evaluation- the staff casted her right thumb due to her dislocation not mending from popping it back into its socket. Her thumb is currently out of socketdislocated and she will requiring more medical attention involving more scans and evaluations from an Orthopedic doctor to determine the severity of her injury and the dislocation.
