What happened
Patient declined heparin injection in her abdomen and asked for it to be given in her upper arm. I pinched the skin on the back of her arm. Her thin tissue and the cramped space made it awkward to administer the medication. I put the needle in the patient but stumbled in the awkwardness of the position and accidentally pulled the needle out before injecting the medication and stuck my left index finger.
