This RN administered subq insulin to patient 's arm. After removing needle this RN went to pull the safety and accidentally pricked her left thumb. The needle went through the glove broke skin and drew blood. This RN cleaned finger with a rubbing alcohol wipe and washed hands with soap and water. PCU manager EHS and 24 hr needlestick hotline notified.
