What happened
After giving IM injection to infant I activated the needle protection mechanism and placed the syringe down on bed. I finished collecting specimen for blood sugar. While i was gathering supplies and trash I picked up syringe. i felt the needlestick on my left middle finger. While inspecting needle i noticed the whole needle was bent over to one side and mechanism didnt seem to be all the way activated allowing needle to stick out. washed hands immediately and notifed [REDACTED].
