Suturing the Left medial thigh of patient
What happened
While suturing the Left medial thigh incision of patient my needle pulled though the tissue and stuck me in the left thumb. The needle was cut off and removed from the field and I scrubbed out and washed the injury with surgical soap at sink. The sutures were then cut out and redone. Could possibly have been avoided with better visualization but due to body habitus the patient barely fit on the operative table.
