Before the incident
Employee placed a pair of sealed five liter mobile phase reservoirs on hot plates and enabled heating and stirring Second employee noticed the situation when the bottles were starting to bubble and notified first employee of the issue and then turned off the heat First employee attempted to bleed off the pressure from the reservoirs and a probable first degree burn resulted on the left palm of the employee The cap was removed and the mobile phase sprayed out of the pressurized vessel and covered the area including the celling tiles above No employees were splashed during this incident The employee was wearing a nitrile glove on the left hand ERT called temporary service provider and then took employee to the medical center after they allowed this to occur
