Grinding welding
What happened
While at [REDACTED] for weld training the team member was grinding with safety glasses and a faceshield but somehow it appears that steel grit still reached the left eye. The eye was rinsed and the irritation seemed to subside but today the eye is extremely irritated and it feels like there is something still in it. The eye was rinsed yesterday in the eyewash station and the team member used soothing eye drops the rest of the day. [REDACTED] the eye was rinsed twice in the eyewash station at [REDACTED] and the soothing drops were continued but to no avail. They were sent to North Plant safety where an eye cup and saline was utilized but the irritation is still strong.
