What happened
pt in room 715 needed to use the commode. I pulled back the blankets to find a tourniquet red blood tube butterfly needle package and flush wrapper. After discarding those items and getting the pt back to the bed after using the commode I found the end of a second butterfly needle and poked my gloved left index finger. This poke broke skin. I then washed with warm water and soap and cleaned with an alcohol prep pad.
