Cleaning patient room after transfer to ICU

In patient room. That patient got sent to ICU so afterwards I began to break down the room to prep for housekeeping. I noticed that there was 2 meds that was left on the countertop. I attempted to close the med box so I can put away the meds. I attempted to close the med box so I can put away the meds to adhere to policy about meds being put away or handed off to the nurse for room cleaning. The current nurse was still in ICU giving report. In the procress of me closing the med box to put the new meds in there I was stuck with needle from an blood culture. The med box was full so the blood culture needle was sticking out of the topbut was hidden by the lid. I felt the needlestick and immediately reported to charge nurse [REDACTED].
