Before the incident
The patients visit was complete I was manually lowering the leg rest of the bariatric treatment chair the patient is unable to hold his legs up during this which adds a great deal of weight to the leg rest.
What happened
At the time the leg rest went down it gave way and slammed down my finger got caught between the metal tray and the leg rest this caused an automatic instinct for me to pull it out. It was immediate pain and bleeding to the tip of my left ring finger
