Using hydraulic press in maintenance shop to remove internal bearings on the main support rollers for a monorail hoist.

On the fifth roller retaining snap ring was not removed first and when worker attempted to press the bearing out the groove that the ring sits in severed from the rest of the roller and the bearing was ejected with significant force. Ejected bearing struck workers L hand which was in position to catch bearing.
