What happened
While withdrawing IV stylet after catheter was confirmed with blood flash I pressed the button to withdraw the stylet and it did not withdraw the needle all the way. As I was pulling the remainder of the IV set up away from the patient my left index finger was stuck breaking the skin with the small stylet portion that did not retract as it should have.
