Starting an IV

After injecting intradermal lidocaine I tried to activate the safety feature of the syringe and noticed after setting the syringe down that it didn 't activate. The syringe rolled off the bed and instinctively I went to catch it and stuck my L thumb through my glove. After numerous attempts I was able to activate the safety feature.
