After administering injection I noticed that the safety cap was not completely closed and the needle tip was still exposed so I attempted to close it the rest of the way by pushing it up with the side of my right hand. After walking out of the exam room and using hand sanitizer I felt the area sting and noticed a small red puncture wound.
