Before the incident
Left thumb applying lidocaine to anesthetize area for procedure. Accidental needlestick when readjusting placement of needle. Examined nitrile glove at the time of contact with no notable puncture seen in PPE. Finished last injection site and completed shave biopsy of area. Procedure was completed and during cleaning of the area my PPE was removed and noted slight blood across top of left thumb where area of contact occurred. No continuous or additional bleeding noted reexamination of PPE still did not indicate break in the nitrile glove. Immediately contacted supervisor and began appropriate protocols.
