Before the incident
Cleaning an ice machine.
What happened
I was cleaning an ice machine with bleach and nickel safe cleaner. Bleach was in the drain pan and when the machine went into a rinse cycle it mixed the two chemicals together forming chlorine gas. The drain was clogged for the machine causing the issue to worsen. I felt it was necessary to unclog the drain to keep the hazard from potentially spreading into other rooms of the building specifically patient rooms. I stayed and unclogged the drain breathing in to much of the fumes.
