Before the incident
transferring patient from bed to stretcher
What happened
in preparation for patient move slidemate was placed under patients left side bed rails lowered stretcher placed in position next to bed on left approximately 2-3 inches lower than bed mattress. I was positioned at shoulder of patient on stretcher (pulling) side. Using a 6 man sheet draw pt was moved to stretcher at which time i was pinned between to pt stretcher and the countertop for several minutes while the side rails and straps were placed for pt safety. Once pt was secured properly bed and stretcher were moved.
