Drawing up heparin shot sub q to give to patient. Just gave the patient the heparin shot
What happened
I gave the patient a sub q heparin shot in the stomach area and when I gave the shot and pulled out to initiate the safety the patient coughed very strongly and caused my hand to move and prick my finger with the used needle.
