Attempting to change the consumables on a plasma lead.

Employee attempted to twist the shield off the lead while the machine was on and he did not have on the appropriate gloves to do the job. As he tried to remove the shield he realized it was on tight so he put the lead on his leg and twisted the shield attempting to get more leverage. As he twisted the shield his other hand accidentally engaged the plasma lead causing a second-degree burn to the employee’s right hand.
