Cutting out a bad part of track on a pivot belt rotation rail.

A maintenance employee and another employee were cutting out a bad part of track on a pivot belt rotation rail. They had issues with the plaz cutter and decided to try and use the grinder with a new cut off wheel. While doing so the employee started to cut the steel with both hands on the grinder. The blade exploded within the first 10 seconds. The blade flew into pcs and one pc struck the employee on the left hand mostly the index finger.
